5-Day Cheetah Safari Serengeti & Ngorongoro

Drive: Depart Arusha for a 2.5 to 3-hour drive to Lake Manyara National Park or Tarangire National Park — both outstanding wildlife destinations on the Northern Circuit.

Wildlife: Enjoy afternoon game viewing among elephants and ancient baobab trees (Tarangire) or track tree-climbing lions and flamingos (Lake Manyara). Your expert guide will position you for the best wildlife sightings and photography opportunities.

Drive: Drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands toward the endless plains of the Serengeti. The journey itself is a wildlife experience with stunning highland views and the chance to spot wildlife along the way.

Afternoon game drive: Spot plains game and predators during the afternoon en-route game drive as you enter the Serengeti ecosystem. Zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and the first glimpses of big cats on the savannah.

Full-day cheetah safari: Spend the day exploring the Seronera Valley, known for high concentrations of cheetahs, lions, and leopards. Your expert guide knows the resident cheetah territories — the open grasslands where cheetahs scan for prey from termite mounds, the acacia woodlands where leopards rest, and the kopjes where lion prides dominate.

Predator tracking: Track active predators in the early morning and late afternoon heat when cheetahs are most active. The golden light of dawn and dusk provides exceptional wildlife photography opportunities. A picnic lunch is served at a scenic spot on the plains.

Morning game drive: Take a final morning game drive in the Serengeti — your last chance to track cheetahs and big cats on the open plains before departing.

Transfer: Drive back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, stopping at scenic viewpoints along the way. Arrive at an overnight lodge or camp along the crater rim with breathtaking panoramic views of the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Sunset over the crater is one of Africa's most spectacular sights.

Early descent: Descend early (around 6:30 AM) into the crater floor for a 5-hour game drive to see cheetahs, elephants, and critically endangered black rhinos. The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa — a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 large mammals.

Big Five: This is the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five in a single game drive. Black-maned lions, massive elephant tuskers, buffalo, and the rare black rhino all call this ancient caldera home.

Hippo pool: Picnic lunch served at the hippo pool.

Return: Ascend the crater walls and drive back to Arusha for evening drop-off by approximately 6:00 PM. Safari concludes with complimentary hotel or airport drop-off.
