6-Day Arusha Ngorongoro & Serengeti Safari

Drive: Depart Arusha in the morning for a drive to Tarangire National Park — one of Tanzania's most underrated wildlife destinations.

Wildlife: Spend the afternoon exploring massive baobab trees and large elephant herds. Tarangire is famous for having one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania, with herds often numbering 300+ individuals. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 550 bird species.

Evening: Overnight at a lodge or campsite near Tarangire or Karatu, perfectly positioned for the next day's journey to the Serengeti.

Drive: Drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands into the endless plains of the Serengeti. The journey offers stunning highland vistas and the chance to spot wildlife along the way.

Afternoon game drive: Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Seronera Valley, famous for big cats. The Seronera River provides year-round water, making it one of Africa's most reliable predator-viewing destinations. Lions on kopjes, leopards in sausage trees, and cheetahs scanning the grasslands from termite mounds.

Evening: Overnight inside the Central Serengeti — fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Full-day game drives: Embark on early morning and afternoon game drives to track lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The golden light of dawn is when predators are most active — your expert guide knows the resident pride territories and the best spots for predator-prey interactions.

Great Migration: Follow seasonal wildlife movements and the Great Migration path if nearby. Depending on the time of year, you may witness vast herds of wildebeest and zebra moving across the plains, followed closely by predators.

Evening: Overnight inside the Central Serengeti for a second night of immersive bush experiences.

Crater descent: Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 6-hour game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 large mammals within a 20 km diameter caldera.

Wildlife: Spot endangered black rhinos, pride of lions (including the famous black-maned lions), hippos wallowing in pools, and flocks of flamingos on the soda lakes. Elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, elands, spotted hyenas, and jackals all thrive in this unique ecosystem.

Hippo pool: Picnic lunch served at the hippo pool.

Evening: Ascend and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning game drive: Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for tree-climbing lions and troops of baboons. This scenic Rift Valley park features groundwater forests, open floodplains, and a soda lake shoreline attracting flamingos and over 400 bird species.

Wildlife: Beyond the famous tree-climbing lions, spot elephants, giraffes, hippos, blue monkeys, and large baboon troops. The park's diverse habitats — from dense woodlands to open grasslands — make it a birdwatcher's paradise.
