Pickup: Your private guide collects you from your Arusha hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Drive: Approx. 2.5 hours through the Maasai steppe.

Wildlife: Tarangire is famous for its massive elephant herds — often 300+ strong. You'll also encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species along the river.

Landscape: Ancient baobab trees dot the savannah, with the Tarangire River serving as the main water source — especially vital during the dry months.

Seasonal highlight: During the dry season (June–October), a mini wildlife migration of about 250,000 animals enters the park, giving it the highest concentration of mammals in Tanzania.

Lunch: Picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the park. Afternoon game drive continues until late afternoon before driving to your lodge in Karatu.
