7-Day Family Safari Adventure Tanzania

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) from the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, or your home country. A driver will take you to your hotel in Arusha. This is your arrival day to settle in and prepare for the adventure ahead. An optional coffee farm tour is available for families who want to stretch their legs after the flight.

Drive: Drive 2 hours to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing.

Wildlife: This park is famous for its giant baobab trees and massive elephant herds. The Tarangire River draws wildlife from across the Maasai steppe — spot lions, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 species of birds for excellent bird watching and wildlife photography.

Drive: Travel to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive.

Wildlife: Look for tree-climbing lions, hippos, and thousands of pink flamingos in the shallow lake. The park is a narrow strip of land between the Rift Valley escarpment and the alkaline lake, creating a uniquely diverse ecosystem perfect for wildlife photography.

Crater descent: Drive up into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — a massive, collapsed volcano that acts like a natural zoo.

Big Five: The crater holds the highest density of wildlife in Africa, including the rare black rhino. This is a true Big Five safari — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo in a single game drive.

Drive: Leave the crater highlands and travel to the world-famous Serengeti National Park.

Wildlife: On your afternoon game drive, look for cheetahs, lions, and leopards resting in the grass. The Serengeti's endless plains stretch to the horizon, dotted with acacia trees and kopjes. This is big cat country at its finest, with opportunities for cultural experiences including Maasai village visits.

Full-day game drive: Spend the whole day exploring the Serengeti's grasslands. Depending on the season, enjoy Great Migration viewing — over 2 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving across the plains. The Seronera region offers year-round big cat sightings with leopards on kopjes and lion prides on the hunt.

Morning game drive: Wake up for a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, capturing those last wildlife moments as the sun rises over the plains.

Departure: Catch a short bush flight or drive back to Arusha to catch your flight home from Kilimanjaro International Airport. The bush flight offers a scenic aerial view of the Serengeti and saves hours of driving — a perfect finale for the whole family.
