Drive: Drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive in one of Tanzania's most underrated wildlife destinations.

Wildlife: See massive baobab trees and watch large herds of elephants dig for water in dry riverbeds. Tarangire is famous for having one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania, with herds often numbering 300+ individuals. Lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 550 bird species add to the experience.

Evening: Overnight near Karatu or the park borders, perfectly positioned for the journey to the Serengeti.

Drive: Drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands down into the Serengeti. The journey offers stunning highland vistas and the chance to spot wildlife along the way.

Afternoon game drive: Begin an afternoon game drive looking for prides of lions and herds of wildebeest. The Seronera River Valley is one of Africa's premier predator-viewing destinations — lions on kopjes, leopards in sausage trees, and cheetahs scanning the grasslands.

Evening: Overnight at a tented camp in central Serengeti — fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush.

Sunrise game drive: Wake up early for a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. The golden light of dawn is when lions hunt, leopards return from their nocturnal patrols, and cheetahs begin scanning the grasslands.

Great Migration: Track the Great Migration movements or find leopards resting up in acacia trees. Depending on the season, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra may be moving across the plains, followed closely by predators. Your expert guide knows exactly where to position you for the best sightings.

Early departure: Depart Serengeti early and descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.

Big Five finale: Spend 5 to 6 hours searching for the endangered Black Rhino to complete your Big Five checklist. The crater floor is a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 large mammals including black-maned lions, massive elephant tuskers, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the critically endangered black rhino.

Hippo pool: Picnic lunch served at the hippo pool.

Fly to paradise: Drive back to Arusha Airport (ARK) or JRO for an evening flight to Zanzibar (ZNZ). Touch down on the Spice Island ready for Part 2 of your adventure.

Morning: Spend the morning touring the historic alleys of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through narrow streets lined with carved wooden doors, visit the old slave market — a sobering reminder of the island's complex history — explore local spice stalls fragrant with cloves, cinnamon, and vanilla, and tour the Sultan's Palace (Beit al-Sahel).

Afternoon: Transfer to your northern beach resort in Nungwi or Kendwa — Zanzibar's most stunning beach destinations with powdery white sand and turquoise waters.

Days 7 & 8: Spend these days completely unconstrained by schedules. This is your time to unwind in paradise.

Optional activities: Board a traditional wooden dhow boat for a snorkeling trip to Mnemba Atoll — one of East Africa's premier marine reserves with vibrant coral reefs, tropical fish, and the chance to swim with wild dolphins. Alternatively, take a sunset cruise on a dhow, watching the sun melt into the Indian Ocean with a chilled drink in hand.

Beach time: Relax on the white sand shores or swim in the turquoise water of Nungwi or Kendwa — among the most beautiful beaches in Africa.

Option A — Safari Blue: Take a full-day "Safari Blue" boat excursion — one of Zanzibar's most iconic experiences. Sail on a traditional dhow, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, lounge on pristine sandbanks that emerge from the ocean at low tide, and feast on a fresh seafood barbecue with lobster, prawns, and fish grilled right on the beach. Fresh tropical fruits and chilled drinks complete the experience.

Option B — Prison Island: Visit Prison Island (Changuu Island) to see the historic giant Aldabra tortoises up close — some over 100 years old. Explore the old prison ruins, snorkel in the surrounding coral reefs, and enjoy the island's tranquil beaches.
